Sponsor | PinGUY | Dec 10, 2006 7:37pm | This allows you to upgrade your Windows XP to newer version, Windows Media Center Edition 2005. These two operating system are very similar so it's not that complicated and this converter has only something above 300 MB. You don't have to purchase Windows MCE licence of course, also your serial will remain valid.

----TO----

I made a package that includes the image file and a burner program. I made the image to a bootable one so you can boot it up. Below are the steps to follow:
Steps:
Code:1. Burn iso to cd.
2. Boot computer from cd. Once loaded you will see a command prompt that will make needed changes to allow MCE to be installed. You will be prompted to delete a registry key. This is to change from a dword to a string value as needed by MCE.
3. Once completed press a key and your system will reboot
4. Boot into Windows normally and run the installer autorun file.
5. After each step you MUST reboot for a proper install.
6. If you are prompted to insert your XP Disk 2 point the program at the file on the disk /cmpnents/mediactr/i386/mediactr.cab
OK well that is not that hard.
All you need to do this is the folowing:
Code:*A DVD OR CD Burner
*A Blank CD with at least 500mb of space
*Magic ISO (included in package)

you have to put the cd into your pc and boot from it, it will load a live Windows called bart PE once booted you will see a live windows desktop, by the start button will be a minimized window just maximize it and hit yes.
boot into windows and run the installer and restart the pc after each part.
And then you will have MCE 2005 marry xmas :D |
